If you have gone through a divorce or a death in the family, chances are that the past has affected you in some way. I have been saying for a while now that the most common factor that leads to self-awareness is whether or not something has happened to you personally. When we don’t have clarity about what is happening in our lives, we feel overwhelmed and disconnected from our own feelings. The problem is that when we are focusing on other people and not ourselves, we are in a fog.

What other people are saying about us is more important than what we are saying about ourselves. The thing that we are supposed to be focusing on, is ourselves. The most common cause of self-awareness in our society is that people are too self-focused. Self-aware people are able to see what all the other people around them are saying about them, and in doing so, understand that they arent alone. In a world of so many conflicting opinions from people with so many different opinions, when you can see clearly what is going on with yourself and your body, you can see what your body is telling you clearly. So instead of having to wonder, “Why am I feeling so much pain? What could be wrong?” Self-awareness is a state of being able to know what you’re feeling in your own life. It’s about being able to see what it is your body is telling you. Self-awareness isn’t about being able to tell the difference between what your mind is telling you and what your body is telling you. When you are truly self-aware, you are able to see yourself and your own feelings clearly. Deception is when the mind is telling you one thing and the body is telling you another. Deception is just being blind to your own feelings. The opposite of self-awareness is self-deception. I have seen this happen to me personally when I have had to deal with situations that I thought I could handle.īut it’s also about being able to feel when you do something wrong. This allows them to be more empathic and compassionate, which in turn gives them the ability to handle their own feelings. One of the biggest benefits I have seen from people who have been self-aware is that they can handle the emotions that come with learning that you are one with your thoughts and feelings. I have seen the results of self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-love on the physical, mental, and spiritual health of those that I have worked with. Each of us is an individual, and so is our own journey to achieving the ideal health of our own mind, body, and spirit. I have a very simple philosophy when it comes to health.
